Duties and taxes
There are a set of fees and taxes imposed on real estate owners in Turkey, and they are as follows:
Electricity fee:
It is a monthly fee that arrives at the home with the beginning of each new month, and it is one of the important fees that must be paid either by directly reviewing the equipped company, or through the post office, or by electronic payment through banks.
In the event that the property owner does not comply with the payment, the company supplied with electricity will cut off the electrical current to the property, and then cancel the subscription and impose a delay fine on the property owner.
Water charges:
It is similar to the previously mentioned electricity bill, as failure to pay will lead to the water company cutting off the water supply to the property.
The water charges can be paid by direct payment of the supplier company, by the post office or by the bank.
Real estate tax:
It is an annual tax that is paid every year to the municipality department, and it includes all the real estate that a person owns in Turkey, and upon payment, the owner of the property will be obligated to bring a copy of the title deed (tapu).
This tax is absolutely payable, for example, when selling the property to a new buyer, the title deed will be delivered in the event that the property tax is paid.
